About me
Hi, my name is Katie, thank you for stopping by.
I am a trauma recovery therapist, with a person centered core, which enables me to offer an integrative approach to counselling therapies, treating clients with the empathy and respect they deserve throughout our journey together.
My practice is based in Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire, where I can offer both in person and online appointments. However, I can offer online appointments anywhere in the country.
I live in Ravenshead with my husband, daughter and our two mini lop rabbits, called Dotty and Fluff. I have spent most of my adult life as a military wife in Germany, adapting to being a single, working parent when my husband was serving away on tours. These experiences enabled me to witness the affect that separation had on families and the devastation it could cause. This spurred me on to train in trauma recovery so I could create a safe and supportive space where people could come to recover from their lived experiences.
I also work, part-time, for a organisation providing long-term therapy for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. We offer sessions over a long period of time, up to 2 years, which enables survivors rebuild safety and trust in others and recover from their experiences, learning how to rewrite their stories and find themselves again.
I will work alongside you to help you process your lived experiences, support the difficult feelings and emotions that arise and to relieve the pain from the past.
I consider a trusting and meaningful relationship between client and therapist to be the key to a successful outcome. This belief lies at the heart of my practise.
